These fibres can produce thread or yarn that is thinner than other types of cotton because of their longer length. This yarn is smaller in diameter yet stronger than another cotton. Smaller yarn means more threads can be used per square centimetre of material to create a more luxurious fabric that is stronger and lighter in weight, yet breathes and absorbs well.
